Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain: Shooting mechanics are reliable

I’m at 1% completion.  I’ve completed the prologue and just barely started the first proper mission.  One of my biggest concerns with this game was that the gunplay would be gimped, as is typical with a lot of stealth games that don’t want to be treated like an action title.  Thankfully, The Phantom Pain’s shooting feels just like any dedicated third person shooter out there.  The aiming is responsive and reliable, and the cover system works great.  I’m sure as the missions become more difficult that going in guns ablazin’ won’t cut it, but one thing I know for sure is that it won’t be due to a deliberately broken aiming mechanic that makes shooting undesirable so that players would be forced to rely on stealth.  Here’s a 15-minute footage of the very first real mission.
